Nutritional Supplements
Sooo many different products available. So many different ideas about what to give and what not to! "A little sprinkle of this, a dash of that and a pinch of...whatever this stuff is!" If you went along with everything you read or see in the stores, it would be a case of, "Would you like some fruit and veg with your supplements?". You may be seeing a pattern developing throughout my webpages? Keep it simple!! We feed our birds "Bird & Pet Nutrition" pellets and good quality pellets contain supplements. It's as simple as that. I do feel that there is a place for supplements, but with a pelleted diet, use moderation. If you use a seed only diet and supply lots of fruit and veg, a sprinkle of vitamins and minerals is a great thing. We use a couple of products from "Bird & Pet Nutrition".
Pink Vitamins and Minerals with Probiotic: Using a Carbonate base for a great Calcium source, a Multi Strain Probiotic and Vitamin and Mineral premix, aniseed flavours and Iodine. Sprinkle on fruits and vegetable for small birds and parrots.
Solu-Vite Plus:
One of the highest concentrated Soluble Vitamin and Mineral complex for all Avian and pet species. It has excellent levels of all relevent Vitamin groups including Vitamin E, B and D3, a great aid for those birds with minimal sunlight exposure. All Vitamin and Mineral groups are in correct proportions. Very economical with a mix rate of 1 gram to 2 litres of water. Great for those that make their own Lori and hand rear diets.
We use both of the products above in moderation, at various times of the year. The added calcium in "Pink Vitamins" at the beginning of the breeding season helps with egg formation and egg binding issues. The "Soluvite" is a great aid for our indoor birds and also in times of stress (maybe due to shipping or at the end of breeding season etc).
We stock both these products at very reasonable prices. Visit our "Store" for current pricing and purchase details.
