Hello and welcome to our website.
Rosedale Aviaries is a private breeding facility specialising in hand-reared companion parrots.
The species we keep are Eclectus (Red-sided), Blue-throated Conures, Sun Conures, Green-cheeked Conures and their mutations, Quakers and good ole' Cockatiels. Over the years we have kept, bred and road-tested many species. The birds we currently keep have been personally found to be of great companion quality.
We are a small family who are passionate about birds and this is our hobby. This website is about sharing our passion and knowledge regarding breeding, housing, diet etc. Over the years, through trial and error, we have found some things that work and some that don't. We aim to make this website as informative as possible without getting into the technical jargon such as origin, habitat, status in the wild, clutch size, weaning age, yarda yarda yarda. We can answer any question you may have regarding those topics...just ask. Instead, we aim to make our content more useful. To help the everyday breeder gain better results or the prospective pet owner to make an informed decision as to which species may be best suited and it's requirements.
We have numerous friends that also breed birds and we are always on the lookout for better ways of doing things. We will keep this site updated with any new information or brilliant ideas that we discover. If you have some, please let me know and we will add them to the site for the benefit of fellow enthusiasts. I have included a page called "What's New?". On this page I shall post any new information regarding our birds, aviaries and anything else I feel may be of interest.
As well as our hand-raised babies, we also have breeding pairs and spare birds so keep an eye on the "Birds For Sale" page. As mentioned above, we have many breeder friends so if we don't have what you're after...We can get it for you!
