If you’re after a pet cage bird go down to your local pet store, buy a yellow budgie, name him Peppy and stuff him in a fancy cage in the corner of your living room. However, if you are looking for a truly hand raised companion parrot, that will bond with you and literally become your friend, then look no further than Rosedale Aviaries.
Warren and his family demonstrate the strength of their convictions when it comes to the birds they raise. When you talk with Warren you sense straight away that he truly cares about matching a healthy bird to your specific requirements. Our baby female Eclectus falls asleep on my lap in front of the TV and calls to me when she hears my voice in the mornings. If she spies a croissant on the breakfast table there is no chance I will have all of it to myself, and not once has she demonstrated a tendency to bite or show any aggression to any member of my family. This tells me that something special happened when she was raised, because parrots, even hand reared ones, are rarely this good! After hand rearing nearly 100 of my own parrots over the years I believe I am reasonably qualified to tell a good bird when I see one. If you find a similar parrot elsewhere for less money then you would be a fool to buy it, seriously, unless of course it’s that yellow budgie you’ve been longing for!
